What this covers
Most of my day-to-day work is duct and ventilation metal — on the shop floor and on commercial sites. The pieces below are the ones I take on independently.
- Straight duct, transitions, offsets, and reducers
- Elbows, tees, takeoffs, and boots
- Plenums, drop boxes, and grille and diffuser boxes
- Field-fit pieces measured on site when the drawing and the building disagree
- Replacement fittings matched to existing duct that is already in place
- Galvanized, aluminum, and stainless, in the gauges the job calls for
System design, gas connections, and equipment commissioning are handled by licensed contractors. My work is the metal: fabricating it, fitting it, and installing it.
How a duct job usually goes
Send the sizes
Dimensions, a sketch on a scrap of cardboard, or a photo with a tape in it. For a replacement fitting, photos of what's there now save a site visit.
Confirm the fit
I'll come back with the price, the material and gauge, and a realistic date. If it's outside what I can take on, you'll hear that instead of a maybe.
Fabricate and deliver
Built, labelled, and either picked up, dropped off, or installed depending on what we agreed.
Common questions
Can you match a fitting that already exists?
Usually, yes. Send photos with a tape measure in frame and the duct sizes on both ends, and I can build to match.
Do you install, or only fabricate?
Both, within reason. Fabrication is straightforward; install depends on the site, access, and my availability around full-time work.
How fast can you turn a piece around?
Small fittings are often a matter of days. Anything larger depends on material and schedule — you'll get a real date, not an optimistic one.
